Ryan landed. In order to help him fight jet lag, we introduced him to this magic drink called beer. (Note: rumor has it that he had consumed this beverage on prior occasions)
At first, he was a little apprehensive

But then Mike showed him the ropes

And I introduced him to more beer

And…he fell in love. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan’s Parents, meet your new daughter in law, Pinta Guinness

I left to go meet my new coworkers and have some bevvies and social time with them, so I am not sure exactly what happened with those two after I left. All I know is that they came home shortly after 11, very drunk, and there are pictures of dogs at bars on Mike’s camera. Also, I got the following text message during the night from Mike:
Graeme iwns guitar store.2 chrisses. One kiwi, one looka loike louie anderson.
I don’t even want to know, truthfully. Anyway, the Drink Beer Don’t Nap Jetlag Cure was a resounding success. Junior (also know as Ryan) slept soundly through the night and woke up with only the mildest of hangovers.
We spent Saturday walking around the neighborhood and helping Junior get his bearings. I don’t know when this photo was taken, but I like it.

I tried to get a nice picture of the boys together, but they had to go being boys and ruining it. First Mike had a turn.

Then it was Ryan’s turn to be a jackass.

Last night, we were invited to Roommate Karen’s sister’s birthday bash. It was a P Party – everyone had to come dressed as something that started with a P. We went as penguins! I kind of felt like Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls where she goes to the Halloween party dressed like an ugly witch, and all the other girls are dressed as something slutty and hot because I was the only girl who wasn’t in something flattering and revealing, but I still had a blast.
We were very popular on the walk to the party. Kinds waving from cars, teenagers all jumping in our photos, people yelling “HI PENGUINS!” It was a fun walk.

Wait a minute…penguins don’t drink beer…

The costumes looked really neat if you ducked your head down.

Roommate Karen (left) and her sister Geraldine, the birthday girl. Aren’t they pretty? They are both wearing wigs. I think they are both blondes (Karen is for sure), but the dark hair looked good as well.

We didn’t roll in until close to 4am, and we had a “breakfast” of Chicken Cottage. Now we are laying around the bedroom, slothlike on our laptops. We are having a low key sort of day today. I think Junior is a little rocked from the time difference, and I want to be rested for (OMIGOD) my first day of work tomorrow. Mike is amusing himself looking at funny pictures on 4chan. So, basically, a regular average Sunday, but with RYAN, which makes it awesomer!
